CRESTLINE, Calif., July 24 (Inland Empire News Online) — A small black bear pushed open the front door of the Crestline Village Water District office in Crestline on Wednesday afternoon, wandered through the lobby for about two minutes and briefly entered the main office before leaving, according to district surveillance video and staff accounts.

Employees said no customers were in the office at the time and no one was hurt. Staff watched the bear calmly head back toward the woods after it exited the building.

The district said the bear caused no property damage, though staff reported nose prints on the doors and around the office. The video showed the animal standing on its hind legs as it opened the door.

The incident happened around 12:15 p.m. in the San Bernardino Mountains, part of the Inland Empire. The sources reviewed do not say whether wildlife officials later tracked the bear after it left.
